About
WGEM is the home of NBC programming for the 15 counties which comprise the Tri-State area of West Central Illinois, Northeast Missouri, and Southeast Iowa. This region includes Quincy, Illinois, Hannibal, Missouri, and Keokuk, Iowa. WGEM-NBC broadcasts in full High Definition (HD) on 10.1. The station also provides programming from the CW network on 10.2, the FOX network on 10.3, and Me-TV on 10.4. All channels broadcast in HD. WGEM also operates a full-power radio station, WGEM Sports Radio FM 105.1 which features ESPN syndicated radio, St. Louis Cardinals games, local high school basketball & football games, and QU Athletics (football, basketball). In August 2012, WGEM launched its first HD local newscast after months of extensive renovation to our control rooms and studios. That was followed on October 2013 when our Master Control operations were also renovated in order to provide programming in HD all day long. Our most recent renovation includes our News, Promotion, Engineering offices and a state-of-the-art newsroom. This area comprises our entire lower level which has been totally demolished and redesigned in order to provide the latest technology and office environments to our staff. WGEM is now offering its news content and other local content on our WGEM News App and WGEM Streaming App. These can be viewed from any streaming device (smartphone, TV, etc.) WGEM's commitment to the people and the communities we serve has been a consistent theme throughout the 70 years we have been broadcasting. Since our beginnings in the late 1940/early 1950s, WGEM has been one of the few consistently, locally owned and operated television and radio stations in the country. Our affiliation with NBC has also been there since the very start.
